This collection consists of letters and minutes covering the formative years from the foundation of the Society in 1701 to 1750, and later material concerning the establishment of the American episcopate after the Revolution.

The correspondence is mainly with clergy sent to America, and deals with all aspects of the social and religious climate of the time.
