The Act Books are a collection of Acts of the vicar-general and his registrars. The entries include records of ordinations, licences, dispensations, endowments, mortgages and leases, as well as licences for preachers, lecturers, doctors, midwives and teachers. The records relating to the province of Canterbury include royal and special marriage licences up to 1750.
