“Medica” as a medieval term included medicine, surgery, chemistry, herbal remedies and alchemy. The pride of the Trinity Collection is in the earliest manuscripts, which frequently contain fine illustrations. Outstanding is the collection of surgical treatises (manuscript 1044: 13th century), in which a large number of operations are illustrated by detailed drawings of high quality.
